Since 1979, Honest Abe has operated its own milling facility at its National Headquarters in Moss, Tennessee. There, every log and timber is crafted with precision, beginning with the selection of high-quality Eastern White Pine – a process that demands time, care and consistency.

Proper Drying
To reduce movement, shrinkage and settling over time, our manufacturer combines air-drying and kiln-drying processes for every timber used in an Honest Abe Log Home.
Each log is dried in custom kilns on site, then stored under cover until it’s ready for use. This careful drying method results in greater stability and tighter joinery throughout the structure.
Because quality takes time, Honest Abe maintains an average nine-month inventory of timbers – a level of preparation few competitors can match.

Honest Abe’s manufacturing facility blends advanced technology with hands-on craftsmanship. Using 3-D modeling and computer-driven equipment, each log is cut to precise specifications under the watch of experienced craftsmen. This attention to detail ensures a perfect fit for windows, doors and corner notches – key components in creating a structurally sound and visually seamless home.
Precision Packaging and Delivery
Honest Abe plans every shipment with care. Each pre-cut log is numbered, wrapped and bundled to protect it throughout delivery. You can trust that every piece of your home coming from the Honest Abe facility has been carefully crafted, graded and packaged for a smooth build. Carolina Log Homes will coordinate the delivery to your jobsite and oversee the start of construction, ensuring everything is in place for a successful project launch.
